Strangely Santa Tecla outrebounded Metapan 39-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Cuban center Marvin Cairo (203-1991) stepped up and scored 28 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Brayan Garcia chipped in 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Metapan's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American Nick Moore (198-1991, college: Alliance) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and Gerardo Rivas scored 16 points and 9 rebounds.
